Kell Systems wins 2008 Fast Growth Business Award

March 13, 2008 - Kell Systems, pioneer of Portable Server Environments, the first complete solution for the deployment of servers and network hardware directly in the office workspace, was announced winner of Product of the Year category at last night’s 2008 Fast Growth Business Awards ceremony.

The judges, including Peter Jones, entrepreneur and star of BBC’s Dragons’ Den; Simon Kossoff, MD, Carluccio’s; René Carayol, business guru and TV presenter were particularly impressed by the ingenuity of the product, combined with the fact that it is manufactured exclusively in the UK at Kell Systems’ factory in Somerset bucking the downward trend in UK manufacturing.

Kell Systems fought off strong competition from over 350 other entrants.  The Fast Growth Business Awards recognises the UKs fastest growing businesses and the people running them.

Kell Systems was founded in 2003 by CEO Tim Wash, who identified a need for hot-running, noisy hardware and networking equipment to be located in the open office rather than in dedicated computer rooms.  Portable Server Environments remain the only product in the world of its kind, combining extreme noise reduction and very high thermal capacity with exceptional reliability and office-quality appearance.

The company’s clients include Accenture, Adobe, Boeing, BP, Google, Hertz, Logica, Microsoft, NASA, NATO, Shell and Walt Disney.

With product patents granted in the US, Kell Systems has shown rapid growth since its inception, doubling its turnover year on year.  In 2006 the company expanded internationally opening up offices in Virginia USA, Germany and Spain. The company continues to bring out new products, launching a remote control and management solution in February 2008.

Very tight for space in our office, I have two people working in the same room as our computer servers. The new Kell System cabinet has eliminated all high frequency server noise and all we can hear are the low frequency fans. Kind of like the noise of our office central a/c system, nothing more or worse. This is a small room, we have no issue with sound since this cabinet arrived. The build quality is amazing.
