Money Portal Plc Choose NetShelter CX 'SERVER ROOM IN A BOX' at a Saving of Around 75% per Site

Money Portal Plc, the fastest growing IFA in the country, chose to use NetShelter CX 'SERVER ROOM IN A BOX' as an alternative to building dedicated Comms Rooms for three of its new regional offices. It estimates that it has made a saving of around 75% per site by deploying NetShelter CX and avoided the inconvenience of drawn-out planning permission applications followed by disruptive building works.

In addition it cites that NetShelter CX offer much greater flexibility when it comes to space planning, as they use up less floor space than a Comms Room and can be moved easily to accommodate floor plan changes or future office relocations.

Two of its offices each run off a single NetShelter CX model AR4038, whilst a larger 60-desk office uses two. Each server enclosure houses the entire local office comms infrastructure, including the office's VoIP phone system, router, switch and an industrial-grade server. These local systems link each office to the company's central data centre.

"The decision to go with NetShelter CX was really very easy since there's nothing out there that's comparable," says Scott Greenwood, IT Infrastructure Project Manager, Money Portal Plc. "We needed a true Comms Room replacement that was good looking enough to blend into our working environment, but that was able to cope with the high thermal loads of the servers and switches," he adds. "The hugely effective soundproofing was also crucial, because without it the combined noise of the switches and servers would have rendered the open offices unworkable. We are very happy with the performance of our PSE's and will certainly be using them in the future as we roll out new offices."
